A TOWN FIT FOR A QUEEN

Since we booked to go to Queenstown I've spoken to so many people who have been there and loved it. Invariably, people can't speak highly enough of the place. But the thing is, nobody can prepare you with words and photos for how truly magnificent New Zealand is. You have to go there, and I for one, am counting the sleeps until I return.

Here's Shazza, flying high over Queenstown

The kids took to skiing like seasoned pros. Shazza spent a bit too much time on her ass and decided skiing may not be her calling.

Here's Jess at the Remarkables

And here's Jordan on the day we tried snowboarding. I stuck with the board, the kids went back to skiiing. This is at the Remarkables, the Southern Alps (or Misty Mountains if you're a Lord of the Rings fan) are in the background.

Here's Jess at the top of the Sugar Bowl lift - the Remarkables.

Sammi (she spent most of her time eating snow)

We had a crappy hotel, so decided to bail and search for something better. Found a ripper just a couple of minutes out of town on Lake Wakapiku. To wake up here evey morning an watch the sun climb over the mountains is an absolute treat.

This was taken right outside our room.

Here's a couple (grabbed from video) of me at the worlds first commercial Bungy.

A few seconds and it cost the same as two days snowboarding. Was it worth it? HELL YEAH!!!

And after a day on the slopes, bungy jumping or parasailing, what better than a nice beer and or wine, and a big hearty feed. In Queenstown there's no shortage of any of those fine things and it's all done with an open fire.

Here's Jordan in one of Queenstown's oldest buildings (now a pub / restaurant)

Yep, absolute beauty of a holiday - how can I wait a year until we go back?
